Since the early 19th century, the Castilla Termal Solares has existed as a spa hotel, the first spa in Cantabria. Almost 200 years old, this wellness facility is situated on its own hot springs, which today encompasses a modern hotel with 113 guest rooms and a restaurant. Before and after relaxing, there are countless excursions to choose from in the surrounding area, including the capital city of the Cantabrian region, several beaches on the Bay of Biscay and several nearby mountain ranges for hiking, climbing and mountain biking.

The Castilla Termal Solares‘ concept is aimed primarily at adults looking to spend a few beautiful days with swimming, sauna and massages. A large indoor pool with various hydromassage facilities. Water heated to between 32 and 34 degrees flows directly from the hot springs into the wellness facility. Bathing in the water is generally good for the health and is recommended for the most various complaints. A beautiful Roman bath offers very healthy contrast baths. In summer, an outdoor pool is available in the garden with integrated jacuzzi. All year round, a professional wellness team offers a variety of relaxation and beauty treatments. For children, access to the wellness are and indoor pool is limited to particular times.

The town of Solares has little to offer tourists. But no matter, it’s easy to spend hours in the wellness area of the hotel. Guests who are looking not just to relax but to get out and get active are advised to travel by car. The surrounding area is a paradise for hikers and mountain lovers. Particularly in summer, the Cantabrian coast is a huge draw with its wonderful beaches. Another great destination is the nearby Caberceno natural park, where you can observe brown bears in their natural habitat in large outdoor enclosures.
