The hotel is located in a building, originally built as a pilgrims' inn, with massive stone walls and half-timbered architecture, the hotel is situated directly below the Wartburg, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, which was built as early as 1067, but only took on its present appearance after massive reconstruction work in the 19th century, the castle is most famous for Martin Luther, who hid here and translated parts of the Bible into German
