The Hostellerie de l’Abbaye is surrounded by olive groves on a picturesque vineyard near the breathtaking Gorges du Verdon in a small, typically Provencal village called La Celle. Guests can spend long, romantic days in the wood-scented rooms of this former Benedictine monastery and surrounded by beautifully manicured gardens. There are a range of daytrips to do, including to Tourtour, the ""village in the sky"", which is one of the most beautiful in France. As well as its idyllic location and historic atmosphere, 10 grand suites boast precious antiques, modern art and charming private terraces. In the monastery garden you’ll find plenty of lovely, quiet spots to relax and read, as well as a swimming pool, long enough for a few lengths. The absolute highlight is, however, the gourmet cuisine!
The gourmet restaurant
The award-winning Michelin-starred restaurant at the Hostellerie de l’Abbaye is split into three different rooms, each of which have been elegantly styled with their own, unique atmosphere and featuring wood paneling, wall uplighters, and historic tables and chairs. The head chef Benoit Witz work alongside with Alain Ducasse since 1987. Using ingredients from the hotel vegetable garden and the weekly markets in the surrounding area, he designs unforgettable menus that change with the seasons.
