The history
Reconstructed on the remains of a 13th century Fortified Castle by the Marquis of Attily in 1642, then restored by the Earl of Rohan Chabot in 1965, the castle was inhabited by painter Bernard Buffet until 1979. In 1980, Jean-Luc Chaufour bought the Château de Villiers-le-Mahieu: he undertook significant internal and external restoration works to turn it into this luxurious and romantic Country House Hotel, dedicated to the organization of sumptuous receptions and extravagant seminars.
