With a slightly raised location overlooking the sea, the Capofaro Malvasia & Resort combines the world of wine with a generous helping of luxury. Its typically Sicilian sugar-cube-shaped buildings house 18 double rooms and suites in 4 different categories. Each one has been simply but elegantly designed in a Sicilian style with a contemporary touch. The outdoor areas at this small hotel are perfect for some unforgettable holiday memories. The stylish pool has luxury white sunbeds on a wooden deck as well as a terrace offering great views over the island of Stromboli with its active volcano. At the excellent restaurant, well-known Italian head chef Massimo Riccioli serves up legendary fish and seafood dishes.

Vineyard hotel: Views over the vines & sweet Malvasia
The Capofaro is surrounded by a total of 4 hectares of its own vineyard where the delicious sweet dessert wine Malvasia is produced and which the island of Salina is known for among wine connoisseurs all around the world. On request individual wine tastings can be arranged with a trained somelier. The hotel also runs a small shop with good-quality, typically Sicilian products, including their own wines.
Food & drink: The fine art of cooking fish
The kitchen is run by Massimo Riccioli. The gourmet chef is especially known for his restaurant La Rosetta, which is considered the best fish and oyster restaurant in Rome. At the Capofaro too the focus is on the catch of the day, accompanied by fresh products from the island. The best way to enjoy the delicious meals here is with a romantic candlelit dinner on the verandah by the pool.
Leisure & sport: Garden massages and Sicilian cooking courses
The focus at the Capofaro Malvasia & Resort is firmly on enjoyment and relaxation. On an individual request basis, you can book a massage either in the shade of the pine trees in the garden or in the garden gazebo. Another tip for connoisseurs are the cookery classes in English with one of the two chefs, where you’ll find out a lot about the history and origins of the products used while you learn the art of Sicilian cooking.

The Capofaro Malvasia & Resort is located on the north-east coast of the small Liparian island of Salina. The island is situated just off the north coast of Sicily. You can get a ferry from Naples, Palermo or Milazzo. The hotel itself enjoys a wonderful hillside location overlooking the sea and is surrounded on all sides by vineyards.
