Special easter offers: France hotels

by Holly Maguire March 2, 2010, 12:43 pm

Ooh, la la! Anyone craving a touch of glamorous France – city chic or a Riviera retreat – our Paris and Cote d’Azur design and boutique hotels are sure to satisfy.

The south of France bathes in year round sunshine – why not escape to the glittering Cote d’Azur and lap up the luxury in the Villa Belrose at a fraction of the normal price? This exclusive villa is a sanctuary for relaxation and gourmet delights with food served by Michelin starred chef Thierry Thiercelin. Why not check out the opening of the Chateau de la Moutte on 3rd April, the Spring Sailing Regatta on 10 and 11 April or a multitude of art exhibitions.

The gorgeous romantic boutique hotel La Perouse in Nice is set back from the road with stunning views of across Nice’s beach, old town and the Mediterranean is another picturesque stop off if you fancy driving along the coast.

Paris is as magical in April as the rest of the year, and Easter is perfect for travelling with children – hunt down those Easter eggs (Grande Chase aux Oeufs) in Galeries Lafayette or Vaux le Vicomte castle just outside the city.

These three small, but perfectly formed France hotels: Hotel Therese (01. Louvre – Châtelet), Clos Medicis Hotel and Hotel Recamier (both 06. Saint Germain – Luxembourg) are all awaiting your Easter weekend reservation…

Never Again a Side Table: The Best City Hotels for Singles

by Gesa Noormann February 22, 2010, 11:28 am

Valentine’s Day with its seemingly sugary interpretation of love is over and singles feel relieved: time to plan your next vacation. Are you one of the jinx, who mistakenly ended up in a family club complex last summer, or were surrounded by happy smiling couples and candlelight in the supposedly trendy restaurant? Then you have probably decided to spend the next short holiday in a cool, trendy design hotel, preferably in the metropolis. After all, the chances of finding nice interlocutors at the bar are much better here. And nobody dares to offer you the famous side table next to the kitchen…. Here are our top 5 city hotels for a single holiday:

Le General HotelThe Rockwell

1) The hotel roomz vienna is centrally located, close to all attractions and the nightlife of Vienna. This hotel has a modern design and an uncomplicated service concept. The restaurant and bar is open 24 hours and is also a hotspot for Viennese. The amazingly affordable room rates of this budget design hotel will bring you delight.

2) For Francophiles the best place to stay is the laid-back Hotel Le Général, which in one direction is only 500 meters away from the Georges Pompidou Center while in the other from the trendy quarters Bastille and Oberkampf. Franck, the extremely nice owner, has excellent knowledge about the Parisian night life.

3) In the young, hip design hotel The Rockwell in the beautiful district of Kensington the best shopping opportunities (Chelsea and Knightsbridge) are just around the corner. The innovative concept of this new 4 star hotel is characterized by a combination of tradition and modern design: traditional English style elements have been retained everywhere and in the restaurant there’s an English kitchen, however, with a modern interpretation.

4) The Casa Camper in Berlin’s trendy district Mitte is the first hotel under the flag of the trendy shoe label Camper. This new hotel is characterized by a modern, colourful design and an international audience. Individual shops, cafés and bars are within walking distance in the surrounding streets of Berlin, the capital for singles.

5) Also a metropolis for singles is New York. Recommended for an exciting short city holiday is here the hotel Room Mate Grace , kept in a young, hip design. Guests not only rent a room here: the concept of this creative, Spanish hotel chain is to provide a home and create space in a public area to establish contacts – tailor-made for singles!

Romantic Weekend: Small Hotels Paris

by Sonja Franke January 27, 2010, 12:14 pm

When planning a romantic weekend, Paris has always been ranked among the top 5 of desired destinations – which hardly comes as a surprise, considering that the city conjures up images of loving, kissing couples in tight embraces on the banks of the Seine in almost everyone’s head: Who doesn’t have  Robert Doisneau’s famous kiss or movies such as Breathless (A bout de souffle) by Jean-Luc Godard in mind when thinking of Paris? And the best thing is that although romantic, Paris is never corny. Anyone can fill the myth with new life for themselves : during a walk across the Ile de la Cité with Notre Dame, while climbing the many steps of Montmartre to Sacre Coeur, or when indulging in a glass of wine in one of the many old bars in Ménilmontant.

And because lovers are busy enough with each other and like it cosy, small hotels Paris are ideal for overnight stays: they should be located in a nice area, with fresh croissants brought straight to the bed and with a personal, intimate atmosphere. For this romantic desire the Escapio team (and there’s always one of us who is passionately in love!) is well prepared. Here are our top tips:

One by The Five Hotel Recamier

The absolute highlight of small hotels Paris is the One by The Five, which consists of only a single, although stunning suite. The furnishing seems to be made of light. Around the seemingly floating double bed, colours, stars and clouds are shining, so lovers feel like they’ve been beamed into the galaxy. Of course this uniqueness has its price, but it provides an experience that your sweetheart will never forget!

Characterized by Parisian elegance are the 24 themed rooms of the four star Hotel Recamier. Here, modern design is paired with a familiar atmosphere, and the location in appealing Saint Germain-des-Prés is just perfect: with a view on the Church St. Sulpice (where incidentally Heinrich Heine got married) you are accomodated in the former quarters of the existentialists, with the famous Café de Flore, very centrally located close to many tourist attractions.

In the cosy Hotel des Archives, located in my favourite district Marais, all 19 rooms are individually furnished. And at a great value for money, this boutique hotel offers Parisian flair with beautiful furniture and exquisite art on the walls. From here you can easily explore the Jewish quarter of Paris with its many boutiques and the gorgeous Place des Vosges on foot. And all the other sights are also within very easy reach.

City of Love & Small Hotels Paris

by Justyna Piepiorka January 15, 2010, 2:08 pm

Why and when Paris was declared as the City of Love can today no longer be exactly clarified. Perhaps you should just feel it. A stroll along the Seine is the best opportunity to do so. The river bank of the Seine has a magical attraction to lovers. From here you can overlook many of the city’s major sights; from the Notre Dame to the Eiffel Tower… Probably it’s just the magic of this ancient city with its massive monuments, charming little cafes, alleys and small Paris hotels which fascinates us.

Small Hotels Paris are easy to find. In the French capital there are charming hotels in all price ranges. And one thing is certain: for a romantic dream holiday for two, they are just perfect.

There are of course very special hotels in Paris, where every stay becomes a special experience. However, such special hotels are also often wonderfully centrally located. Recommendable, for example, is Hôtel Britannique, surprising you with its typical Parisian town-house facade and beautiful decorations in the English country home style… or Hotel Le Lavoisier with rooms that make you feel like you’re in own four walls from the first moment on.
Hotel Britannique Hotel le Lavoisier
If you visit Paris and its small hotels, you will enjoy your whole stay for sure – and as there is also a lot to see and experience in Paris you may combine romantic walks with sightiseeing tours across the city.

From the most famous of all museums, the Louvre, through to the impressive Cathedral of Notre Dame, which you should definitely visit. Also worthwhile is a glimpse on the exterior façade: to the Gargoyles, legendary figures from European mythology, which are to protect the church from harm.

The Bois de Bologne is absolutely one of the biggest parks. There you can stay for hours, just walking around – it is beautiful just everywhere. Absolutely no one should miss a visit of the artists’ quarter, the Latin Quarter, where many famous artists like Picasso and Monet once worked and lived.

Paris romantic hotels: magic autumn moments

by Sonja Franke October 20, 2009, 11:00 am

Being asked about Paris, people usually mention three things: love, French cuisine and Eiffel Tower. Indeed, Paris is noted for architectural wonders, skilled chefs and undeniable romanticism, as if evaporated by very single inch of this beautiful city. Thus, in this glorious atmosphere, Paris romantic hotels mushroom and accommodate lovers, engaged couples, honeymooners and spouses. Colorful “Le Bellechasse”, trendy “Jules”, luxurious “Le Vignon”, beautiful “Le General” – there is a lot of them for any taste, boasting unparalleled service, superior conditions of accommodation and unique design decisions. These establishments occupy a vast niche of tourist business, being rather varied and accomplished in the ways of satisfying their clients.

No matter how long and successful you relationship has been up to your Parisian journey – hereafter it will ignite, glow and sparkle with devotion and bright, rejuvenated truthfulness of two affectionate lovers you are. Promenades through the streets (Paris is a very walkable city), strolls in the shade of green havens – Jardin du Luxembourg, Parc Montsouris, Parc de la Villette and others, observation the night city from the top of Eiffel Tower, boat trips down the Seine – these are the fragments to be assembled into the mosaic of your perfect holiday.

Romantic moments a la ParisLe General Hotel Paris

The Escapio team hopes that Paris romantic hotels will only complement this beautiful pattern of impressions with yet another colorful piece.  Undoubtedly, having indulged into the genuine amorous atmosphere of Paris, you will be filled with grateful memories long after this hospitable city is left behind the plane’s wing…

Paris hotels: autumn events and French design flair

by Holly Maguire September 10, 2009, 9:46 am

If you’ve already climbed the Eiffel tower, mooched around the Louvre, shopped til you dropped on the Champs-Élysées and picnicked on the Seine, here are autumn’s best excuses for a return (or a first time visit, of course) to France’s elegant capital Paris, coupled of course with Escapio’s Paris designer hotel tips.

September 30 – October 8
International Ready-to-wear fashion show
Celebrities, designers and über-cool public.
Stay in the Christian Lacroix-designed Hotel le Bellechasse near the Orsay and Louvre.

October 3 -4
Nuit Blanche
Just one world city taking part in the all-night art festival, with galleries, museums, cinemas and swimming pools staying open all night.
Slightly contradictory recommending a great hotel, but if you’re looking a bold and beautiful place, try the boutique Hotel Keppler, designed by Pierre Yves Rochon.

October 7-11
Fête des Vendanges à Montmartre
The annual grape harvest festival in Montmartre
Enjoy the views from Terrass Hotel perched on Butte Montmartre hill, and not far from the Moulin Rouge.

November 9-15
Tennis Masters Series, Palais Omnisports in Paris-Bercy
Check in to the nearby The Five Hotel, bursting with light, coulour and Chinese lacquer art exhibits by Isabelle Emmerique.

Whatever time of year you make it to the city of love, you’re guaranteed a stylish stay in one of Escapio’s Paris designer hotels.

Paris & Coco: Style is sexy

by Christin Papenfuss August 14, 2009, 9:55 am

Today the long awaited Chanel movie “Coco before Chanelis coming into theatres. And I’m really looking forward to seeing it. Without too much publicity and fanfares it starts up – I think even that is style! Now I’m contemplating how I can coax my boyfriend into coming with me. Even now I’ve got the feeling I have to wear the little black dress while watching it. Maybe that’s the trick? The perfect dress and a cigar instead of coke and popcorn? That could be my way of smuggling the flair of this style icon into the sulky plush seats! Plus boyfriend, of course.

I can just imagine: Paris, the city of love, Coco, the eternal and long-suffering lover. Her style subtle and understatement which defines the sex appeal of thousands of women all over the world. Her life, a romantic tragic chaos of feelings in a city shimmering with Montmartre, Louvre and the Champs-Elysees. A life of style and fashion – very sexy! Women topics – great!

Who was she and what was her inspiration? All I know is where I would love to stay if I were Coco Chanel! A quick look into our Paris portfolio… Here: Enjoying a small aperitif in the courtyard of the romantic Hotel Le Quartier Bastille, Le Faubourg and crossing my legs over like her (of course in that little black dress)… or here: Sitting on the terrace of 4 star Terrass Hotel with a stunning view over Paris and having important meetings with important people wearing a touch of Chanel N°5.

Just imagining this – very inspiring! Now the decision is made: a pearl necklace as a gift from my boyfriend and then watching the movie! For the next vacation Paris for sure is on my agenda…
